Embedding Business and Community Engagement (BCE) has become a top priority for learning providers across all sectors. This event, offering a rich mix of presentations, discussions and group work, will provide an opportunity for delegates to follow the latest strategic thinking and share good practices in engaging business and community. The workshop will be facilitated by John Burke, Senior Adviser at JISC Infonet, and will be based on the Embedding BCE Through Business Process Improvement and Internal Engagement Project outcomes.
Embedding BCE Through Business Process Improvement and Internal Engagement Project was an 18 month project managed by JISC Infonet, working with five institutional partners in both the Further and Higher Education sectors. The project conducted interviews with managers and practitioners to identify whether the core business processes of the institution, such as HR, Finance, IT, Marketing etc. fully supported partnership and external community engagement. Examples of both good practices and some generic barriers and issues were identified.
JISC infoNet's latest online resource, the Embedding BCE infoKit presents not only the findings of the project, but the methodology and tools developed especially for this project. This workshop is a must for any institution that is looking to review its own processes to make the most of external engagement and the funding streams that can be discovered through partnerships. The day will be a mix of presentations, discussions and group work.
